Who we are …

Andrew and Mel

After an early career in the hospitality sector and then building and running a successful mechanical engineering company, I decided to follow my passion and started up Global 4WD Training and Tours in 2001. As I soon discovered my career experience formed the building blocks for what is now one of the longest standing Tag Along tour and 4WD Training providers in Australia.

As our name states, we deliver 4WD Training and we take groups of people out to the best of outback and remote Australia. Both the trips and the training allows me to pass on the knowledge and experience to both my students and the people that join us for that outback experience.

When you’re dealing with people, vehicles and weather in the remotest corners of Australia anything can happen. You start the day with a plan and by the end of the day this may have changed many times. You must be able to adapt, improvise, and act to a variety of situations for the safety and well-being of the group.

4WD Vehicle Recovery Training

In 2005 I was approached by a large mining company to deliver accredited driver training as they recognised that driving off-road vehicles was one of the biggest risks to their employees. With knowledge I had gained in off-road driving, vehicle types and setups I registered Global 4WD as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and deliver nationally accredited training for Off-Road Driving, Vehicle Recovery, Towing and Vehicle Mechanics.

Round the campfire sharing stories

We live and breathe this business; it gives me great satisfaction when a student achieves their accredited training, likewise the joy of seeing a tour group experience the rewards of travelling through the remote areas of this great country.

Experience is priceless and we look forward to welcoming you to the community of Global 4WD customers.
